Driving an 18-wheeler in space with rocket wheels and classic exhausts—Star Trucker is the ultimate cosmic trucking experience!
Hello fellow engineers, and welcome to Star Trucker, a game about driving an 18-wheeler in space. Since there are no wheels, let's start a new game. Oh look, there are different game modes! You can focus on the driving side, the mechanic side, play hardcore if you're a masochist, or even create your own trucking experience. I'm going to go with the recommended mode.
Here we are in our truck in space, but we've broken down. Can you see? We've sprung a leak. Look at the truck flying past and stuff; this is so cool. The speed limit is 150—what's that, light years a second or something? Anyway, let's get out of the seat. This is my truck, pretty cushy if I don't say so myself. It's got two floors: downstairs and upstairs. But we need to get out and patch that leak. We can come up to our space suit, get that on, and then open the airlock to go outside.
Yes, I appreciate useful signage. Over this side, we can open the airlock, which means we're now outside. We can head over to the hull breach in our bonnet. Let's just weld a sheet of plate metal on that, and it has bunged up nicely. I didn't weld it; I actually used bolts, or rather, a pentagon key—not the best tool. There's another hull breach down here, so let's head down.
Oh man, look at our truck! It's got rockets for wheels, but it still has a classic exhaust. I love this. Let's patch this one up as well. You can see our suit's oxygen level on the bottom right and power level on the bottom left. Doing these repairs uses up power, so we can't do this indefinitely. Now that the repairs are done, let's go back to the cockpit. Look at that guy! Just look at this place; it's insane.
Back to the airlock, we'll quickly jump back into the truck. We're in our airlock, so that's all sorted. We can go back inside, put the suit back, and it should charge up. You can see at the bottom that it's recharging, meaning I can jump back in the hot seat and go for a little drive.
I've just been told by a guy called Dusty Bear that we can grab our CB radio and give him a little chat. Here's my microphone, so I can speak into this and say anything important I want. For instance, this video is sponsored by the devs—thanks so much, devs! If you want to check it out for yourself, it's available now on PC as well as Xbox SNS, and it's on Game Pass at the moment. Check it out via the link in my description. For now, let's give this guy a 10-97. You're picking me up, right? Nice, he said all is good. Let's put the microphone back.
By the way, isn't Channel 19 the legit truckers' channel? Or is that just random pub quiz knowledge coming back to haunt me? Good old brain. I may also be completely wrong there—disclaimer. But this is space, so it's definitely right in space, right? Anyway, let's set off.
We are offing away. You can do this in first person or third person, which is probably useful for not vomiting and stuff. For now, I'll stick to first person since we're going in a pretty much straight line. Oh look, your ad here! You can see some lovely real civil engineered merch up there.
Where are we going? We're heading to Atlas Prime, and we need to get there via a jump gate. You can see it straight ahead. We need to drive up to this, and now we're lined up. The green lights are on, the thing's powered up, so I need to activate the jump. And then, boom, we're away! It's a bit Doctor Who-ish in here. Look at the time going really fast at the bottom.
We're going through wormholes and stuff, so there's time dilation. We need to be wary of that when we get tasks that require specific delivery times. For now, we've got...
Navigating space highways is way more intense than regular roads, especially when you're dodging trucks and fixing leaks mid-journey.
We are heading to Atlas Prime and need to get there via a jump gate. As we drive up, you can see the green lights indicating that the gate is powered up. I activate the jump, and suddenly, it feels a bit like Doctor Who in here. The time is going really fast at the bottom, and the place looks incredible. Because we're traveling through wormholes, there's time dilation, so we need to be cautious about tasks that require specific delivery times.
Currently, we have a little car on the back of the truck. Navigating this space can be tricky, especially with a forklift truck nearby. I need to drive into the gate, and although the camera angle is weird, I manage to do it. Deciding between first-person or third-person view, I opt for third-person as it seems safer. Trucking in 3D adds extra dimensions, making it more challenging. We have to be careful about taking damage, as seen by the patch on the front of my truck.
Once in the drop zone, I switch back to first-person to unhitch the cargo, completing the delivery. We earn some money and extra three quid for an early delivery, along with some XP, although not enough to level up. With the job done, it's time to head off and find another job.
Driving on the space motorway, we need to be cautious. Despite driving on the right, other cars are on the left. I spot a truck with three loads, which looks cool and could be me in the future. Approaching a service area, I need to manage power, fuel, and other controls like cruise control and emergency air brake. I decide to turn off driver assist to save on fuel, but it causes the truck to drift sideways, forcing me to turn it back on quickly to avoid a collision.
Navigating the space highway proves more dangerous than expected. I receive a penalty for a driving offense and hit a sign, causing leaks everywhere. Despite still being in the tutorial, I need to fix these leaks quickly. I get outside to repair the hole breaches, mindful that standing in front of them could fire me off into space.
Disaster strikes in the tutorial level, and I'm already in chaos mode!
"Oh no, there's a sign! There's a sign, ow ow, it's a sign! Oh no!" The situation quickly spiraled out of control. "Okay, okay, air break, air break, air. This has gone really wrong." Something hit me, and now there are leaks everywhere. "I can't believe I messed up this early. I'm still in the tutorial!" Everything's gone flying. Before addressing anything else, I need to fix these leaks.
I quickly got outside to address the hole breaches. There were two up here, so I fixed them quickly. "If you go in front of these, by the way, they will fire you off into space like gas shooting out, so that's why I'm getting quite far away. Safety first." There were three more along this side. I tackled them from the side to avoid getting blasted. I could hear people honking, probably because I took out a massive sign. "I'm going to get a big old fine for that as well. Not great."
After repairing the leaks, I realized I was down to a tiny bit of power and couldn't repair the last one. "Stop honking! I know I'm in the way. I'm going to move in a second." I didn't have the energy to repair it, so I needed to get back to the truck and wait for the suit to charge. Alternatively, I could head to the fuel depot straight ahead. "If we line up with this docking bay, we can get some supplies."
To dock, I needed to slow down and spin around. Using the docking camera, which is like a reversing camera, I tried to line up with the docking bay. "All I've got to do is line up this outer ring with the green ring in there." I adjusted my position and slowly reversed, eventually hitching up perfectly. "Look, we connect to that and then that drags us in. Man, our truck is so scratched up."
After docking, I could grab a new contract. There were various deliveries available, and I decided to go for one of the top three that were closer. "These actually will pay out the most. I mean, that one is two grand." I needed to be careful with jumps since I had to pay for each. I chose to deliver some synthetic leather. "Great, I love reading through contracts. Highlight of my job as a YouTuber." I skimmed through the contract, noting that the company would sue if I terminated early or abandoned the goods. "So basically, once I do this, I'm committed."
Back in the truck, I realized something didn't sound right. "Oh, I forgot to unhitch. Better unhitch before I move forward." I needed to pick up the cargo and fix my hull. "That's what she said." I quickly checked the power cell status. The gravity power was about to go out, so I needed to act fast. "Let's just quickly get out of here." As I headed down, I noticed bits and bobs floating around.
Always double-check your gear before moving forward.
Okay, so basically, once I do this, I'm committed. Is there anything else I need to be worried about? Probably not. Anyway, I'm back in, so let's just move. Oh, that doesn't sound good. What's going on? Oh, I forgot to unhitch. I better unhitch before I move forward. I need to do two things: pick up that thing and try to fix my halt. That's what she said. Let's just stop quickly.
You can also see here, look, Power Cell status. The one in the middle, the gravity power, is about to go out; it's at 5%. Let's quickly get out of here. If we head down, you'll see there are some bits and bobs floating around. We've got some power cells and other stuff inside these. If we just open these, there's all sorts of stuff we can put in. You'll notice power cells have a bar at the bottom. As well as power, they've got health. If you start crashing, like some really bad drivers—you know who you are out there—oh no, there's a side, there's a side, ow, ow, a side. All this stuff will go flying, so you really need to look after it.
I'm going to shove these in here just so everything's all safe because in the boxes, they're all nice and secure. In here, we've got UCCs, and over here, we've also got UCCs as well. These are fragile and shock-sensitive, so we have to be very careful with them because they are very valuable to us. If we lift up the stairs under here, this is sort of like the brain of the operation, at least in terms of gravity. You'll notice all over the place there is various other stuff. In here, this is the maglock, and over here, this is the core power. You can check—oh no, I'm floating, I'm floating—I was going to say you can check how everything is going over here.
At the moment, the gravity compensator is a bit screwed because that power has run out. We need to get under these stairs and get the Gravity Power Cell out. So, you can just go there for now. Oh no, which one did I put power cells in? Was it this one? We can open this, take one of those out, and then shove this back in. That should give me gravity. Yeah, there we go. I'm just going to put that battery back in here. That is a used-up battery, though, and I need to work out how to charge it. You'll notice we also have the UCCs everywhere as well. It's not just power you have to replace; you have to replace those as well.
Let's lower the stairs. You can see back over here, we have full power in the gravity now, so that is good. I'm going to get back in my suit, which has power now, and I'm going to fix that last hole breach before my oxygen goes. We just have to head down here. Look how screwed up this ship is. Is it a ship? Is it a truck? I guess it's a truck. Right, we'll just repair that. Oh yeah, because we took that contract, we are actually under a time limit now, so we probably should be doing things fairly quickly.
Let's get back to the airlock, decompress quickly, get back into our seat, and we really need to get moving big time. Let's go for a drive. We've got to go over to the left; that's where our cargo is. You can see it's in this thing here. I'm going to get close, then slow down the speed, do a bit of a UI, and keep an eye on the camera. I should be able to line up fairly quickly. Man, I'm quite good at this. Then we just slow down and hitch. If we go to my camera, yeah, look, we're all hitched up, all patched up. Look how many patches you can actually see on my truck. I've only been playing for like 5 minutes. Anyway, we are off and away.
I should probably check where we're going. I think we're going up there. Let's check the old map. From Atlas Prime where we are now, we have to get to Medusa 6 and then warp to Emerald Junction. How much fuel do we have? We've got pretty good fuel. Power's not great on the suit, but the suit will get recharged, so we should be fine. We've got to go up to Medusa 6 now. You'd usually try to always drive down highways because...
Navigating space debris and rival drivers to make a critical delivery on time!
We are quite good at this. First, we just slow down and then hitch. If we go to my camera, you can see we're all hitched up and patched up. Look how many patches you can actually see on my truck. I've only been playing for like 5 minutes. Anyway, we are off and away. I should probably check where we're going. I think we're going up there. Let's just check the old map. So yeah, from Atlas Prime where we are now, we got to get to Medusa 6 and then we can warp to Emerald Junction.
We have pretty good fuel, but the power's not great on the suit. However, the suit will get recharged, so we should be fine. We've got to go up to Medusa 6 now. You'd usually try and always drive down highways because highways have cleared all the space base debris. As we drive straight up here, there's going to be lots of stuff in the way, like lots of bits of debris. Remember, if we knock into those, we will get another hole breach, so we got to be a little bit careful or at least try and keep an eye out.
Yeah, man, there's so much debris everywhere. It's crazy. You can see there's another gate straight ahead. Oh, there's also a guy down there trying to get to the gate first. No, you don't mate, this is my gate. Right, I beat him to it, sucker. Alright, so slow down, slow down. Let's go back into first person just so we can see what we're doing. You can see we got stop signs because we got to stop in front of these and wait for them to sort of all line up. We're just waiting for velocity. There we go. Now we can hit jump and then we are away. If we go to this camera, oh yeah, look at this, it's so cool. Oh my goodness, look at this place. The graphics are insane. What is this game? It is so good.
Anyway, highway straight ahead, so I'm going to try and stick to the highway, but we are probably rushed for time. What time do we actually need to get there again? It's expected by Sunday the 9th at 2:27, so that's 3 hours away. Oh yeah, look, it's 11:00 now. Okay, so what I'm going to do is set cruise control and then increase the speed as high as it will go, 175 miles an hour. It does say miles per hour and that seems a bit slow. We are sort of wormholing all the long distances, but I don't think I want to risk going straight across there. I think I'll stick to the highways where it's safe.
Once we get under this sign, which we're not going to knock off, we can then turn right. Actually, I might turn the cruise control off; it's going really fast. Yeah, someone's just made a jump in there, so I'll be next in line. Oh no, yellow truck, you knob. Can I beat him? I might be able to beat him. I'm in a rush, sorry. I need it more than you. This job's critical; it's synthetic leather. Air break, air break. Oh my goodness. Okay, so proximity is good, alignment's good, velocity is good. We just wait for it to warm up. We got the three green lights, activate that jump again.
Yeah, express to 150 quid it costs to go through these, so that's 300 quid we spent today on this, but we should get like two grand at the end, so that should be good. The drop zone's up over that way. I'm going to go back into this camera because I love looking at the exhaust, the rockets underneath. So cool. There doesn't seem to be any highways over here, so I guess we'll just do our best to not hit anything. In fact, cruise control again. We'll just keep a little eye out for debris.
Oh, I see quite a bit of debris. Hang on, head right, head right. Oh no, I see debris, I see debris. Oh no, there's a little bit straight ahead. Oh, I think it hit me head on. I think it's fine. Right, there's the drop zone. Let's turn off cruise control. Oh, it's turned off, maybe because I crashed. Yeah, right, we got to lean forwards to go down and then lean up just to flatten out a bit. You can see over there in the purple, that is our drop zone. We've just got to drop this and make sure it stays in there.
Anyway, looks like I can just park this diagonally, so I will. Is that in? Yeah, that's gone green. So back in here, unhitch the trailer. Delivery complete.
Survived space debris, careless driving fines, and a rusty truck, but still made a profit and leveled up—time to tackle fragile loads!
I see quite a bit of debris. Hang on, hang on. Head right, head right, head right. Oh no, I see debris, I see debris. Oh no, there's a little bit straight ahead. I think it hit me head on. Anyway, I think it's fine, I think it's fine. Right, there's the Drop Zone. Let's turn off cruise control. Oh, it's turned off, maybe because I crashed, I don't know.
Right, we got to lean forwards to go down and then lean up just to flatten out a bit. You can see over there in the purple, that is our drop zone. So we've just got to drop this and make sure it stays in there. Anyway, looks like I can just park this diagonally, so I will. Is that in? Yeah, that's gone green. So back in here, unhitch the trailer. Delivery complete, nice.
Oh, what? Negative careless driving? What careless driving? Oh no, there's a little bit straight ahead. I think it hit me head on. Damage client property? What? Oh, is that because I hit the sign maybe? What's careless driving? Maybe because I hit the sign as well. They can't charge me twice for it, that's a ripoff. Still, we made a profit, so I'm pretty happy with that.
We also leveled up, which means we have a skill point to spend. Looks like most things are unlocked. We can just get these two down here. So we've got fragile loads that we can start delivering or just-in-time loads. I feel like these are both my weaknesses. Probably going to be really slow, otherwise I'm going to be panicked and I'm probably going to crash into stuff. Let's do fragile loads. Yes, that is now unlocked and that's led to two other ones which lead to more. We can get more fragile loads or we can go this way which gives us an extra 100 kg cargo limit and then will lead to long-distance jobs which then lead to valuable jobs and all sorts of that.
As an engineer, I'm definitely safe and sound, not fast and frisky. Oh sweet, so Red Eddie just gave me a job. I can see down there the purple thing. I think does that mean there's a hole breach? Hang on, I think that means there's a hole breach. Was it where we hit that asteroid? I bet it was. Oh my, there's three. How did I get hit down this side? I don't remember hitting anything. Anyway, we'll do a repair. That's used one bit of power, two bits of power up. I don't know if me moving uses power. Yeah, look, two hole breaches over this side. My truck's going to be like 90% of these steel panels. I've only done one job and we've already got about 13 patches on it.
Anyway, that's all that done. This truck is looking very much worse for wear. Why is it so rusty? Oh, I'm not good. Truckers are meant to look after their trucks; it's like their home, their habitat. Mine's all dirty and rusty. I need to get better at this. In fact, down here there were these cleaning supplies. Is that how I clean? Yeah, maybe I can clean my truck somehow. By the way, if you actually want to know how to do everything in this game, just open up this glove compartment. Look, there's a user manual. So yeah, probably should read through that at some point, but for now, let's forget that exists.
I'll tell you what, since we're here, let's go down to Tiger Rock Station. I think they should have some jobs for us. That's quite cool actually, they built a space station on an asteroid. It would be quite nice to get another job going back to Atas Prime. I mean, there's only one job starting here. Hello, Mr. Fancy Pants. What? So I think this container is filled with loads of pants. Yeah, let's just grab this one. It's expected by 5:40 in the morning; it's currently nearly midnight. Okay, so that should be fine.
Unhitch, let's go get that load. What I don't understand is, yes, there's like three ways in space, but all these little bits like the local roads, how do people know where to drive? How am I not crashing into loads of other trucks? I don't think it's my fault that we've taken out an iron and stuff. I think there should be better rules. Anyway, right, we got to try and hitch this thing up. So if we just go this way, I'm going to try and do this all in first person this time. We're looking down there and then we're sort of lined up so we can start reversing. There we go, that's quite quick. Matt, that's quite quick. That is quite quick. Oh, it's good, it's good though. We're all hitched up.
Space trucking is chaos—crashing, fines, and all, but I'm still rolling!
That should be fine. So, on hitch, let's go get that load. What I don't understand is, like, yes, there are like three ways in space, but like all these little bits like the local roads—how do people know where to drive? How am I not crashing into loads of other trucks? I don't think it's my fault that we've taken out an iron and stuff. I think there should be better rules.
Anyway, right, we got to try and hitch this thing up. So, if we just go this way, I'm going to try and do this all in first person this time. We're looking down there and then we're sort of lined up so we can start reversing. There we go, that's quite quick. Matt, that's quite quick. Oh, it's good, it's good though. We're all hitched up. Oh yes, I didn't check—do I have fuel and stuff? How much fuel do we have? We got half a tank of fuel, yeah, we should be good. What does that mean? We got a red light on—is that like a suit helmet? Oh no, my suit's got no energy. Hang on a second, where am I going? The junk fielded. Okay, let's just cruise control, probably just at 40 mph. I shouldn't hit anything, there's like nothing ahead, so I'll leave that driving.
Then I got to work out how to do this. So, is it just in here? Yeah, we got to remove this power cell and replace it with an actual full one. So, if we open this, yeah, that is a full one. We can swap that. I think it's my last full one though, which isn't ideal, but I think I probably need a charged suit all the time. So, yeah, let's keep that and then hopefully there's no surprises when I turn around. No, we're good.
I was also thinking, should I turn off like mezzanine lights and rear cab lights? Oh yeah, look at this, we're in the dark. Oh, this is decent. Look, there's a supply shop down here. Oh, I didn't know that. What? Nah, I never knew that. I've got to get this delivered, so I won't worry about that. Also, where am I going? I'm going to junk fields. I'm going the wrong way to get to Atlas Prime. I got greedy, I just wanted an extra job.
Still, let's try and line up nice and secure. Oh my goodness, where's the brake? There it is. H, oh cocking a suck. Oh, you're actually kidding me, we got a whole breach. Hang on a second. Alright, we got a couple of hole breaches down here. I'm going to get another fine for hitting stuff, but at least we got the energy to repair. I just need to reverse this thing a little bit. I can't believe I crashed into the gate. Reversing a trailer in 2D is hard enough. Oh God, there's a truck there. Sorry, sorry, I didn't see you there. There's a big queue forming behind me. Wait, he's still in my spot in the queue. Oh my goodness, look at the debris in this place. I can see why it's called the junk fields.
So, where are we delivering this? Over there. This is terrifying. I don't see any safe route. Yeah, right, there's the drop zone. Hope I'm better at parking these things than going through the jumps. Oh, I actually am. I'm really good at this. Fair play, Matt, fair play. You are a genius. Alright, so now just unhitch that and then we're all good. Upon second thoughts, we're not all good. We got exactly zero for that. 288 for careless driving, fair enough. A grand for damage to client property. Is that because I hit the warp gate? Zero quid, that was literally pointless. Great. Hey, got some XP though.
Alright, well, I got to get to Atlas Prime, so I got to do like five more jumps. Yeah, not going to waste my time doing another job. I think I'll just try and get back. Oh, I just hit a big old asteroid. How did I not see that? Hang on, hang on. Oh, my suit hasn't recharged. It's got 69% charge. Nice. No, not nice. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no. Come back, come back. No, no, no, no, no. My truck's going away. Please, please, please. Right, I'm catching up with it. I thought I put the handbrake on, but I can't. Anyway, while I'm out here, I may as well do a whole breach even though we're still moving.
Alright, and then we're on our way. So, I will head to Atlas Prime and hopefully there won't be any dodgy incidents on the way. If there are, I'm sure you'll be the first to hear about them. But yeah, for now, I'll see you guys in a little bit. Oh God, oh God, oh no, oh no, oh balls. Another sign and then we're back to the safety of Atlas Prime. We got to go meet Eddie over there.
When life throws you curveballs, just refuel, repair, and keep moving forward.
"Nice, you're not nice." Oh no, no, no, no, no. "No, no, come back, come back." No, no, no, no, no. My truck's going away, please, please, please. Right, I'm catching up with it. I'm catching up with it. I thought I put the handbrake on, but I can't. Anyway, while I'm out here, I may as well do a hull breach even though we're still moving.
Alright, and then we're on our way. So, I will head to Atlas Prime and hopefully there won't be any dodgy incidents on the way. If there are, I'm sure you'll be the first to hear about them. But yeah, for now, I'll see you guys in a little bit. "Oh God, oh God, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh balls." Another sign and then we're back to the safety of Atlas Prime. We got to go meet Eddie over there.
Now, I need to try and work out how to get supplies so I can get fuel from down there, the fuel station. Right, let's not crash into the fuel depot. Matt, what are you doing? Actually, that was quite good, quite a good bit of parking. Fair play. So, I'll begin refueling. I am refueling now. Nice that it cost 1100 quid, it's only 50p a liter. There's a little shopping basket.
Okay, so we're coming up to this thing. Let's do a bit of reversing. "Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, that was really good parking, nearly." So, on the right is everything I can buy. It looks like I can buy some energy; it costs 57 quid. Then, if I want to sell my power things, the empty ones, I get 57 quid each. Really? Like yes, they are empty of energy, but still seems like I'm being ripped off. So, we'll buy one of those. Shall I sell my empty ones? I don't know if I can charge them myself. I'm going to imagine not, so let's just sell those ones.
Let's unhitch and then let's go see what Red Eddie wants in Atlas Prime. Oh, oxygen is about to completely run out. Okay, let's quickly exit this seat. Where is the oxygen again? Oh no, it's the hull breach, isn't it? Oh, I need to breach the hull. Right, come on, suit charge. What's going on here? Oh, the UCC. Oh no. Okay, right, get rid of that, get rid of that. Where's the good ones? Where's the good ones? Are they in? Okay, there they are. There they are. Right, don't drop this, don't bang it into anything.
I've inserted that there. I'm going to get in my suit. I've got like no power. How do I get oxygen in here? Is there anything in here I can use as oxygen? I mean, there's an air filter. Where does this go? I don't think I need an air filter. Right, I have oxygen now at least. The room doesn't though. Where have I got to go? I'm panicking, I don't know what to do. Right, we try and charge this. That's got to be charged.
Oh look, there's the air filter. I know the air filter is fine, is it? I think it's fine. This is the oxygen generator. Oh, that needs power. No, I mean thankfully I did get picked up, I got recovered, I got repaired. However, 750 quid. We're not in the UK anymore, we got to pay for health. It's been an expensive day and look at all this. Our truck's in such a bad way.
Anyway, I found out this was why my oxygen was running out, so I put that back in. So, we should have oxygen back on the menu. Yeah, we do. Gravity is going to go soon though. I need more money so I can have more power. Right, unhitch, let's go do some fragile loads. Maybe that will help us.
Right, okay, let's back up to the shop. I think what I'm realizing is this game is a lot more simulation than I realized. But we're going to the shop. Oh look, they've got loads of power. Oh look, are they better powers? Yeah, they've got 150 charge rather than 100 charge. They cost double the price though. I believe that's what we call in the UK a ripoff. So, let's buy those two powers. That's 1,100 quid. So, they've been delivered to my airlock. Then just unhitch and go forward a little bit.
Oh, upgrade shop. Upgrades? I didn't know there were upgrades. I thought this was the repair shop. Okay, so let's get inside here. Right, we can repair our hull. I think our hull is completely fine, but I think you can just come repair here and spend money rather than spending your suit energy. Anyway, what else we got? We got propulsion. Oh my god, look how many things there are to upgrade. Nozzle coolers. Oh, I feel like that's what I need. Reinforced plating, impact resistance 25%. Oh look, cargo damage resistance. That would be good for my fragile stuff.
The suit station, I think that's probably what I want to focus on. 750 quid though, that's like all my money. If I hit another sign, I won't be able to afford it.
Upgrading your gear makes all the difference—power is everything!
Forward a little bit, oh, upgrade shop. Upgrades? I didn't know there were upgrades; I thought this was the repair shop. Okay, so let's get inside here. Right, we can repair our hull. So, whatever, we'll confirm. So, our suit now charges a bit more efficiently.
Oh, you can also take a little look around at your truck here. Look at this absolute beast of a machine. I love it. Right, anyway, what I've realized is power is everything, so I really need to sort of get this sorted. I think first off, we just need to turn off like everything. Oh, look, we got a heater. I don't know, maybe just keep that in the middle. I can probably turn the blower down there. I'll turn it off completely and we just have to keep an eye on temperature. That's fine. Oh, look, we got wing mirrors. We do have wing mirrors; they're just video ones. Oh, cool. Anyway, let's head out over here now. What I want to do, I think I want to shove everything into storage. This is an old UCC, so it probably doesn't matter if it breaks. I will shove it in a container anyway. But yeah, we then got to shove these in here. So, if I turn off gravity, there's no gravity. Yeah, these are going to go flying. What if I open them in there? Does that wedge them in? I think it does. Yeah, we've still got all these other bits and bobs. I mean, could I... hang on, let me head upstairs with these. Could I shove them in here then? Yeah, they'll at least stay in there, right? I think that's a good idea.
I mean, maglock, I don't need that until I get to C, so let's turn that off. Core systems, I probably do need oxygen. Again, probably do need suit charger, climate. Okay, I'll leave the rest on, but then maybe I can turn the lights off. So, turn off all the lights. Oh no, look, the actual core is going. Yeah, it does mean we’re using 0% power on the gravity and the mag stuff. Okay, so I think we're actually pretty good. It means now we can head over to the waypoint to see what Red Eddie wants. I want three trailers like that guy. Look how cool that guy looks in his red truck. Mine's just rust-colored. Oh, is that Red Eddie, do you think? Because it's red? Yeah, I think it is. We're talking to him on our radio. Hang on, hang on, I got to answer my radio. Grab the mic. Uh, yeah, I'll give it a shot. 104. Okay, got to treat it like pads in the back seat. Okay, so we'll put the mic back on and then there's our cargo straight ahead.
Alright, should I be worried about the core systems running out of energy? Probably. I probably need to go put those in. We are only using 33% though. Alright, this is a fragile load. This is actually going to take some good driving. Matt, don't be a knob about this. Oh, you've gone too... oh God, where are you going, Matt? Oh, that is perfect. Get ready to hitch. Gently does it. Wait, why is it not working? Oh, I turned the maglock off, didn't I? Oh, there's no gravity. Ah, and I think I'm going to replace my core system. So, where were they? That was over this side, right? So yeah, they're really out of juice. If I take one out, I can then come over to here and take that power cell, which is full up, and shove that in there. Then do the same with that one because this is pretty much out of juice. I mean, I could put this in something else to use up. Alright, so that's in. Shut that. Get back in the driver's seat and then we should be able to attach that. So, hitch. Nice.
So, what have we got? We got glass. We got to go over to the way station in that direction. So, let's go. Fragile load, the lucky four-leaf clover. I think we're going to need all that luck. Yeah, down here. Core power back up to 100%. Decent. I'm going to take the highway as well because I'm not an idiot. I don't want to crash into anything again. Although technically, I tend to crash more when I'm on the highway than not. And if I turn driver assist off, it doesn't seem...
Navigating chaos and still leveling up—I'm getting better at this game!
I shove that in there and then do the same with that one because this is pretty much out of juice. I mean, I could put this in something else to use up. All right, so that's in. Shut that, get back in the driver's seat, and then we should be able to attach that. Hitch—nice. So what have we got? We got glass; we got to go over to the way station in that direction. Let's go, fragile load, the lucky four-leaf clover. I think we're going to need all that luck.
Down here, Core Power back up to 100%—decent. I'm going to take the highway as well because I'm not an idiot. I don't want to crash into anything again, although technically, I tend to crash more when I'm on the highway than not. And if I turn driver assist off, it doesn't seem to use less power. Oh my goodness, what is that? There's a box in my face. Hang on, turn that back on. Why is there a box in my face? Why didn't I tie that down? Anyway, let's bank right a little bit. The way station is 2 and 1/2 miles away. We've made it there in one piece so far, and there is the way station straight ahead. Let's just try and straighten up a bit. Whenever I brake, everything comes to the front. I say everything; it's just the box at the moment.
Right, looks like we're in. We've got to stop completely, and then you can see they're weighing us. Okay, so we've been weighed, so I can go straight ahead. I thought I was going to have to reverse, but then the barriers went up, so we can just drive forward. Yeah, I'm not good with reversing with this. All right, nice. So out of here. Where are we going now? Up over that way, Medusa 6. So we'll just swing a left, go up a little bit. Is there a highway up there? I mean, I don't see one. I think we may just have to—oh look, there's a highway up that way now. I'm not going the long way; we're going the direct route. We will risk the debris. I'm sure it will be fine.
Tell you what, that was the best idea I've ever had. That was a direct route, and there was no debris at all. Look at this, I'm actually getting better at this, I think. All right, so proximity alignment, velocity—all good. Just waiting for the green lights now, and then B activate. I am a changed man in this game, I tell you. Oh no, what's this? Please, this is an automated inspection checkpoint. Oh no, they're checking me. Have I got illegal goods? I've stopped, I've stopped. Inspection has concluded; result is green. Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no. I was just bored waiting for—I think I missed it. I think I missed it. It's fine.
For now, we got to head through another gate to Edberg. Oh look at this, welcome to Edberg. Oh, where are we going? Hang on, we're going—I think we're taking a hard left here. Man, there's a lot of stuff down below. Looks like there's not going to be any shortcuts today. Just take it nice and simple, that's all we got to do. We're nearly there. We're going down; we better go up. Oh no, there's a sign up there. Don't go up too much. I'm so scared of signs now. All right, okay, the drop zone. Let's just flatten out a bit, and I don't think I'm going to reverse in because that's just going to end in tears. So we will just go in straight ahead. Nice, I think that is another job in the bag.
So unhitch that. Look at this, no negatives. We got two grand, and we leveled up to level three. All right, so we just got to try and head back in one piece now. I don't like this place; there's too much stuff in the way. Oh, and I've got a skill point to buy, have I? So yeah, I probably want to head to the valuable load. So let's go this way first to increase my cargo clearance so I can sell more items at shops and store heavier loads. So yeah, that's now gone up to 300 kg; we only had 200 before.
All right, there's the old job board. So actually, can I go into these upside down? Hang on a second, let's just spin around. I'm just intrigued to know if it would work. So we're going in technically upside down right now. Can I still hitch? Hitch, yeah. I've hitched up down. Oh look, it flips me around anyway. What sort of jobs do we have? That was 1,000 quid and expires in 2 hours. There's only one job though. Yeah, let's try and take the easy job. All right, unhitch. Where are we going? It's up that way. Oh no, no, no, debris, debris, debris. Oh, there's a pole. Oh, I missed it, I missed it. Phew. Just doing some reverse parking, attempting to. All right, we are hitched. We got to go, we got to go. Express gate to Medusa 6.
Am I just going to go straight and risk debris? I think I am. I wonder what they're using big old stones like this for these days. I feel like in the future, everything's sort of made out of something other than rock. Tell you what though, I have just perfectly lined that up. Despite everything, I'm actually good at this game now, I think. Actually good. All right, okay, coming in. Pull up a little bit. Oh, I can't see. Hang on, hang on. Pull up. Oh no, oh no, oh no. Can I pull up? I can. Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no. Oh God. Right, unhitch, unhitch, unhitch. It's good, it's good. Get out of it. Oh no, it fell out. No, no, no, no. Go back, I don't go back. Right, we can re-hitch this. We can re-hitch this. It's not over. It's not over. Just simply re-hitch again. There we go. And if I just flatten myself out—oh look at this reversing, look at this reversing. That is in, that is in. So now we unhitch, and now we are good.
Yeah, oh, what a 2 and 1/2 grand fine. Just that tiny little hit at the end. Well, at least we clocked up 6 miles, I guess. By the way, this area is beautiful. Look at it, look at the nebula. It is crazy good looking, unlike my truck right now. It's so patched up, but I haven't sprung a leak in a little while, to be fair. So fair play to me. By the way, look, if we zoom in—ready? Zoom right in and look, there's me out of the window and look, Patty next to me. What a cool and addictive game.
Anyway, guys, I hope you enjoyed. Be sure to boost the link in my description to check this out. It's on PC and Xbox, and remember, it's on Game Pass at the moment, so be sure to get it, check it out. It's so fun. I don't know what it is about it, but yeah, I'm going to go make some more deliveries, and I'll say peace, love, and—oh, it feels really hot in here. Ah, 50°. Oh my goodness, turn the blur on, turn the blur on. That is very hot. Heater down to cold. Right, bye guys. Ah, stupid boxes. Oh, I just hit something. Oh, I hit that asteroid. Bye guys.
