Whip up a Greek-style chicken pita with homemade Tzatziki sauce for a fresh and flavorful meal!
Hello my dear viewers!
Today I suggest preparing a Greek style dish for lunch or dinner. Start with 2 boneless chicken thighs, weighing 400 g. Season them with salt and black pepper on both sides, then fry until golden brown on both sides. Add two-thirds of the garlic (2 cloves) to the chicken, reserving one-third for the sauce.
Next, we will prepare the Greek Tzatziki sauce. Grate 100 g of cucumber on a coarse grater. If the cucumber is very watery, you can squeeze the juice out of it. Combine the grated cucumber with 120 g of Greek yogurt, one-third of the garlic, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, 1 tbsp of olive oil, a pinch of sugar to balance the flavors, 1/4 tsp of salt, and ground pepper. For the aromatic herbs, dill and a little mint are ideal, but today I decided to add cilantro. Stir until smooth.
For the assembly, you will need white or red salad onions (1/4 onion) and a tomato. Chop the chicken and prepare Pete's Flatbreads (I'll leave a link to the recipe). If you don’t want to bother, you can use regular lavash. You can add the chicken pieces directly to the sauce or pour the sauce on top of the chicken.
To assemble, take a tortilla and a leaf of lettuce. Add the chicken with sauce, a little onion, and tomato. These filled pitas should be eaten immediately so they don’t get soggy.
Many thanks to the channel sponsors! This dish is incredibly fresh, aromatic, and tasty! I hope you enjoyed this recipe. Fried potato slices are also ideal here. Until new delicious recipes!
